11.4 Million Viewers in Five Days
The long-awaited return of the beloved medical sitcom “Scrubs” has been a hit with audiences, drawing in a staggering 11.4 million viewers in the five days following its premiere on ABC. This impressive viewership figure includes both traditional broadcast viewers as well as those who streamed the show on platforms like Hulu.
According to Disney, which owns ABC, “Scrubs” has set records as the most-streamed comedy episode and series premiere on the network in over a year. The previous record was held by the 2025 series “Shifting Gears,” starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings. Additionally, the show has been a standout in the 18-49 age demographic, outperforming other comedies since the premiere of “Shifting Gears” and a special crossover episode between “Abbott Elementary” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
Created by Bill Lawrence, “Scrubs” originally premiered on NBC in 2001 before moving to ABC for its final seasons. The reboot brings back fan-favorite characters like JD (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison), who navigate the changes in the medical field while maintaining their enduring bromance. The show promises a mix of humor, heart, and surprises as old and new characters interact at Sacred Heart hospital.
Returning cast members include Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley, among others. The show is executive produced by Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer through Doozer Productions, as well as Braff, Faison, Chalke, showrunner Aseem Batra, and Randall Winston. The studio behind the series is 20th Television.
Fans of the original series have eagerly embraced the revival of “Scrubs,” and with its strong viewership numbers and positive reception, it looks like the show is well on its way to recapturing the magic of its earlier seasons.
