Tragedy Strikes Queens Neighborhood as 19-Year-Old Fatally Shot

A normally quiet Queens neighborhood was rocked by tragedy on Sunday evening when a 19-year-old man was fatally shot, according to authorities.

Police received a 911 call reporting a male who had been shot near 64th Road and Grand Central Parkway in Forest Hills around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, as per the NYPD.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered Jean Rios, 19, unresponsive and unconscious with a gunshot wound to his chest, police confirmed.

Rios was rushed to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz was seen at the scene as blue and yellow caution tape cordoned off a section of the road, as captured in photos.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the incident remains under investigation by authorities.
