27-year-old woman dies after being struck by van in NYC

A tragic incident occurred in the West Village on Thursday morning as a 27-year-old woman from Cambridge, Massachusetts lost her life after being struck by a van while crossing Morton Street at the Seventh Avenue South intersection. The accident took place just after 8:30 a.m., and despite being rushed to Bellevue Hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries around 9:10 a.m.

The driver of the van, a 61-year-old man behind the wheel of a black 2020 GMC Savana with New Jersey plates, remained at the scene following the collision. Sources revealed that he was observed driving the wrong way, although he was not immediately charged by authorities.
