4 attacked in separate crimes in NYC subways in just over a day

In a series of disturbing incidents, four individuals were attacked in separate incidents within the New York City subway system in just over 24 hours, according to police reports.

The first attack occurred on the northbound No. 7 train platform at the 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue stop in Jackson Heights, Queens, when a ski-mask-wearing assailant punched a transit worker in the face around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday. The victim, a 46-year-old MTA employee, was attacked by the unknown suspect who menacingly asked, “Do you know me?” before striking the victim. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center and is currently in stable condition. The suspect, described as wearing a black ski mask, clear glasses, a black jacket, pants, and shoes, fled the scene and remains at large.

In another incident, a 16-year-old boy was slashed in the back of the head by an apparent stranger at the Seneca Avenue M train station in Ridgewood, Queens, around 3 p.m. on Monday. The victim was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and is in stable condition. The attacker is still on the loose.

During the Monday evening rush, an 18-year-old teenager was stabbed and slashed during a brawl at the Freeman Street platform in Crotona Park East, Bronx. The altercation with a stranger believed to be in his 30s resulted in the victim sustaining injuries to his back, neck, and elbow. The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is in stable condition, while the attacker fled the scene.

Additionally, a 33-year-old man was knifed across the forehead during a violent confrontation at the Rockaway Avenue No. 3 train station in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while the suspect, a stranger believed to be in his 20s, remains at large.

These incidents follow a disturbing event where a brutish stranger pushed a man onto the subway tracks at 36th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, early Sunday morning. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was pushed onto the roadbed without provocation but was fortunately assisted back onto the platform by responding officers and is currently in stable condition.

The NYPD is actively investigating these attacks, and anyone with information is urged to come forward to help identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The safety and security of commuters in the New York City subway system remain a top priority for law enforcement authorities.
