A tragic event unfolded in Stockton, California on Saturday evening as at least four people were killed and 10 others were wounded in a shooting at a banquet hall. The incident took place shortly before 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
Heather Brent, a public information officer for the sheriff’s office, described the shooting as “unfathomable” as it occurred during a family gathering at the banquet hall. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, are assisting in the investigation.
Stockton, a city with a population of around 320,000 residents in central California, is located approximately 45 miles south of Sacramento. California Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed on the incident and is monitoring the situation closely.
The shocking events that unfolded in Stockton have left the community reeling, with authorities and residents alike coming together to seek answers and support those affected by this senseless act of violence.
