85-year-old woman stabbed to death in NYC home, grandson in custody: sources
An 85-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being repeatedly stabbed inside her own home. The victim, Julia Boomer, was found in her Throop Avenue apartment in Bedford-Stuyvesant late Tuesday evening. Despite being rushed to Kings County Hospital, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities have taken Boomer’s grandson, a 22-year-old man, into custody for questioning in connection with the incident. Sources reveal that the grandmother and grandson had a heated argument that escalated into violence, leading to the tragic outcome. It was also noted that this was not the first time the two had been involved in a domestic dispute.
The elderly woman sustained multiple stab wounds to her head and torso, indicating a brutal and violent attack. While no charges have been filed as of yet, the grandson has a history of legal issues, with two open criminal cases in Brooklyn. These cases include charges of harassment, petty larceny, grand larceny, and assault from previous incidents.
The community is left shocked and saddened by the senseless loss of life, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Julia Boomer’s death continues. As more information comes to light, authorities will work diligently to ensure that justice is served for the victim and her loved ones.
