An 88-year-old woman, Carly Marder, became the victim of a senseless assault while walking through Times Square. The NYPD reported that a 30-year-old man randomly punched her in the face near 35th Street and 7th Avenue, causing her to fall to the ground and lose her two front teeth.

Carly Marder, born in 1937, was simply going about her day when the unprovoked attack occurred. She required immediate medical attention for her injuries, including the loss of her teeth.

This disturbing incident is part of a concerning trend of assaults targeting elderly individuals in New York City. The NYPD has noted a significant increase in attacks on seniors, with 1,228 felony assaults reported against individuals aged 65 and older so far this year.

Despite the rise in attacks, the NYPD has made arrests in 962 of these cases, highlighting their commitment to pursuing justice for victims of violent crimes.
