Accused Minnesota assassin Vance Boelter is tied to Middle East and Africa, runs security company

The suspect wanted in connection with the tragic events that unfolded on Saturday morning in Minnesota has been identified as Vance Luther Boelter. Boelter, 57, is the CEO of the Red Lion Group, a security company based in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also has ties to Minnesota Africans United, an organization working with African immigrants in the state.

Boelter, along with his wife Jenny, leads Praetorian Guard Security Services, a Minnesota-based security company focused on providing security services to individuals and properties. Boelter’s extensive experience in security includes work in Eastern Europe, Africa, North America, and the Middle East, with involvement in regions like the West Bank, Southern Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip.

Despite his security background, Boelter’s work history includes roles in food service, such as being a general manager at 7-Eleven and holding managerial positions at Del Monte, Johnsonville Sausage, and Greencore in the UK. He has also been appointed to Minnesota government positions by different Democratic governors, showcasing his involvement in public service.

Boelter, a registered Republican, has emphasized the importance of voting and civic engagement in past social media posts. He holds a degree in international relations from St. Cloud State University and earned advanced degrees in management and leadership from Cardinal Stritch University.

Authorities are currently searching for Boelter in connection with the shooting of Senator John Hoffman and former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband. Boelter allegedly exchanged gunfire with responding officers before fleeing the scene, leaving behind a manifesto and papers referencing anti-Trump protests.

Efforts to reach Jenny Boelter, Praetorian Guard Security Services, and Minnesota Africans United for comment have been unsuccessful. The investigation into the tragic events continues as law enforcement works to apprehend Boelter and bring justice to the victims and their families.
