Anna Kepner posted TikTok about dying young before Carnival cruise death
An eerie social media post shared by Anna Kepner just days before her tragic death on a family cruise around the Caribbean has left many shaken. The 18-year-old cheerleader lip-synced to “If I Die Young” by The Band Perry in a TikTok video, smiling and dancing in her Florida home. The post, captioned “Never knew” with the hashtag “happy,” was posted on October 25, showing Kepner in a seemingly carefree moment.
Less than two weeks later, Kepner’s body was discovered wrapped in a blanket under the bed in the Carnival Horizon cabin she shared with her siblings. Her social media page has since been flooded with heartfelt tributes, with many noting the haunting nature of her choice of song in the final video she shared.
The teen’s untimely death has left many questioning the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that Kepner was strangled to death with a bar hold, a move that involves an arm around the neck. While there is still no confirmation of who carried out the act and hid her body, her step-brother was questioned by the FBI in connection with the case.
Reports have surfaced about the step-siblings having a tumultuous relationship, with witnesses recounting a heated argument in the cabin the night before Kepner’s body was found. The 16-year-old step-brother allegedly had an unsettling obsession with Kepner, with incidents of him climbing on top of her while she slept being revealed by family members.
Kepner’s celebration of life was held recently, where she was remembered as a girl who loved the sun, water, and beach days. Her obituary described her as someone with a big, beautiful heart who never hesitated to spread love and positivity to those around her.
