Art teacher allegedly filmed himself stabbing people on Halloween
A shocking incident unfolded in Colorado Springs, where a deranged art teacher allegedly filmed himself stabbing three people, resulting in the death of one victim. Matthew Regnier, a 33-year-old instructor at Monument Academy, was found naked and covered in blood, holding a 2-year-old child when police arrived at the scene of a domestic dispute.
The horrific attack took place just hours after Regnier had been seen handing out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters. Police discovered three individuals with severe stab wounds at the residence, including the 2-year-old child’s uncle, who tragically succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Two women also sustained life-threatening injuries in the brutal attack.
Regnier claimed that he had acted in self-defense, alleging that he was facing a “three-on-one assault.” However, cell phone footage captured him screaming about being choked while he appeared to be free to move before the violent altercation unfolded.
Authorities revealed that they had been called to the same residence on a previous occasion in response to a report from a woman who intended to file for a legal separation from Regnier. The art teacher had also served as a junior varsity soccer coach at Palmer Ridge High School but has since been terminated following the disturbing incident.
The Lewis Palmer School District, where Regnier was employed, expressed deep sadness over the tragic events. Collin Vinchattle, the Executive Director of Monument Academy, emphasized that the safety and well-being of students, families, and staff are their top priorities, and they are committed to providing support to those impacted by the devastating incident.
Neighbors were left stunned by the violent outburst from a man who had been seen just hours earlier engaging in a festive Halloween tradition. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, as authorities continue to investigate the disturbing incident.
