Ashton Kutcher Says He Was Fired from a Gucci Campaign for Being ‘Too Fat’

Ashton Kutcher, known for his role in “That ’70s Show” and being a heartthrob in the early 2000s, recently shared a shocking story about his early modeling days. The actor revealed that he was once fired from a Gucci campaign for being “too fat.”

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Kutcher recounted how he had landed an exclusive campaign for Gucci in his early days as a model. He flew all the way to Italy for the shoot, only to be told by Gucci Creative Director, Tom Ford, that he was “too fat” and subsequently fired from the campaign.

At the time of the incident, Kutcher was 178 pounds and around 19 years old, placing the situation in 1997 or 1998. Despite being let go from the campaign, Kutcher didn’t take it personally and understood that Ford had a specific vision in mind for the project. In a surprising turn of events, Kutcher revealed that he and Ford later laughed about the situation.

Fortunately for Kutcher, he went on to find success in acting around the same time. “That ’70s Show” premiered in 1998, catapulting Kutcher to stardom and making him a household name. It seems that Kutcher ultimately had the last laugh, proving that sometimes setbacks can lead to even greater opportunities.

In the end, Kutcher’s experience serves as a reminder that in the competitive world of entertainment and fashion, rejection can sometimes pave the way for bigger and better things. As Kutcher himself put it, “You win some, you lose some!”
