The assault and battery charge against “Empire” star Bryshere Gray has been dismissed as per TMZ reports.
The Chesapeake General District Court confirmed that Dustin “Chosen” Wilkins requested the dismissal of the misdemeanor charge filed against the actor in Chesapeake, Virginia last month, which was granted by the judge on Wednesday morning.
Bryshere was initially arrested after his friend and collaborator filed a complaint alleging physical assault at a hotel. Despite the warrant and arrest, his friend Chosen bailed him out shortly after.
Chosen, who pressed charges, expressed that he never intended for Bryshere to be arrested but hoped it would lead to mental health treatment for the actor. He mentioned dropping the charges if Bryshere agreed to seek help.

In an interview, Chosen revealed that Bryshere’s well-being was his main concern, and he was willing to drop the charges if it meant Bryshere seeking treatment. Bryshere’s decision regarding treatment is still pending.
Despite the offer for help, Bryshere’s team has not been informed of any decision regarding mental health treatment at this time.
Bryshere’s representative has not provided any information on his potential enrollment in a treatment facility for mental health concerns.
Following the recent events, Bryshere’s involvement in the reality series “The Starboys” has ceased, and his friend Chosen mentioned Bryshere’s desire to step away from the entertainment industry.
In past incidents, Bryshere faced legal troubles including a 2020 arrest for felony domestic violence leading to a brief jail term and probation. He was also back in jail in 2022 for violating probation terms.
Bryshere’s future remains uncertain, with reports indicating his departure from “The Starboys” and a desire to exit the entertainment industry.
