Atresmedia Picks Up Onza Entertainment’s Docuseries ‘Vulnerables’
Atresmedia, one of Spain’s leading broadcasters, has recently secured the broadcasting rights to “Vulnerables,” a docuseries that sheds light on mental health issues affecting young people. Produced by Onza Entertainment, this three-part documentary was created by Gonzalo Sagardia, co-founder and CEO of Onza, and directed by Gustavo Ron and Sagardia himself. The series was developed in collaboration with Spanish psychiatrist Marián Rojas and various national and international mental health experts.
Scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, September 16, “Vulnerables” will be showcased at Spain’s South International Series Festival in Cádiz. The documentary aims to address the growing concerns surrounding the mental health of young individuals, tackling issues such as suicide, sexual assault, and physical disorders. Sagardia emphasized the importance of raising awareness and implementing prevention and treatment programs for these vulnerable individuals.
Building on the success of their previous collaboration on “Young Addictions,” Onza and Atresmedia are joining forces once again to bring attention to important societal issues. “Adictos a la pantalla,” a documentary series that explored young people’s addiction to technology, garnered significant interest both in Spain and internationally. The series was picked up by various platforms including ViX, Flow, CNN Portugal, ZDF Germany, and Al Jazeera, among others.
Sagardia highlighted that the decline in young people’s mental health is not limited to Spain but is a global issue affecting developed countries worldwide. As such, “Vulnerables” is expected to resonate with diverse audiences globally, shedding light on the challenges faced by today’s youth. By partnering with Atresmedia, Onza aims to continue their mission of creating impactful content that sparks important conversations and drives positive change in society.
