Australia wins the toss, sends India in to bat in 2nd one-day cricket international

Australia captain Mitch Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in the second one-day international at Adelaide Oval. This decision came after a successful seven-wicket victory over India in the series opener in Perth, where Marsh played a crucial role with an unbeaten 46.

Speaking at the toss, Marsh expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance in Perth despite the weather disruptions. He also praised the pitch at Adelaide Oval, describing it as “great.”

Australia made three changes to their lineup for the second ODI. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey replaced Josh Philippe, Xavier Bartlett came in for Nathan Ellis, and spinner Adam Zampa returned in place of Matthew Kuhnemann. On the other hand, India stuck with the same starting XI from the previous match, with Kuldeep Yadav once again missing out.

The ongoing series is part of India’s eight-game tour of Australia, with the third and final ODI scheduled to take place in Sydney on Saturday. Following the ODIs, a five-game T20 series will commence on October 29. Australia’s next big challenge after the limited-overs series is the Ashes test series against England.

Here are the lineups for the second ODI:
Australia: Mitch Marsh (captain), Travis Head, Matthew Short, Matthew Renshaw, Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Owen, Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood.

India: Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, K.L. Rahul, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.
