Bangladesh vs South Africa in Women’s Cricket World Cup

VISAKHAPATNAM, India — The Women’s Cricket World Cup match between Bangladesh and South Africa saw Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana winning the toss and opting to bat on Monday.

Bangladesh, currently sixth in the points table, has one win from three games. After defeating Pakistan, they faced losses against England and New Zealand. A win in this match could potentially move them to fourth place.

South Africa, on the other hand, is in fourth place with two wins from three games. They started with a loss to England but then secured victories against New Zealand and co-host India. A win in this match would see them leapfrog India into third place.

Both teams have made changes to their lineups for this crucial match. Bangladesh has brought in Fargana Hoque and Ritu Moni to replace Sumaiya Akter and Nishita Akter Nishi, respectively.

South Africa has also made changes by including Annerie Dercksen and Masabata Klaas in place of Sune Luus and Ayabonga Khaka.

The ACA-VCDA Stadium is expected to witness another high-scoring game, similar to the India-Australia match. Spin is likely to play a crucial role in the match.

With favorable batting conditions in the afternoon and dew aiding the chasing side in the evening, the match promises an exciting contest. However, there is also a looming threat of rain.

Teams:

South Africa: Laura Wolvaardt (captain), Tazmin Brits, Anneke Bosch, Annerie Dercksen, Marizanne Kapp, Sinalo Jafta (wk), Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Masabata Klaas, Tumi Sekhukhune, Nonkululeko Mlaba

Bangladesh: Rubya Haider, Fargana Hoque, Sharmin Akhter, Nigar Sultana (captain/wk), Sobhana Mostary, Fahima Khatun, Shorna Akter, Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan, Ritu Moni, Marufa Akter
