Bank robber hits two Long Island banks in 48 hours, using stick-up note: cops
A brazen bank robber has been wreaking havoc on Long Island, hitting two Flagstar bank locations within a span of just 48 hours. The suspect, described as a bald man with a beard and wearing a dark-colored jacket, used a stickup note to intimidate tellers into handing over cash in both incidents.
The first robbery took place at a Flagstar bank in West Babylon on Monday, where the thief successfully made off with an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing in a waiting car. Just two days later, the same suspect struck again at a Flagstar bank in North Babylon, using the same modus operandi of presenting a robbery note to the teller and absconding with the stolen cash on foot.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that they believe the same individual is responsible for both robberies and are actively investigating the case. However, no further details about the suspect or the total amount of money taken have been released by authorities.
Despite multiple attempts to reach out to Flagstar Bank for comment, they have yet to respond to inquiries regarding the robberies. The community remains on edge as they await further updates on the investigation and the apprehension of the elusive criminal.
