BayView Takes North American Rights to FlareFlow Microdramas
BayView Entertainment has recently acquired the North American distribution rights to a collection of vertical video titles from FlareFlow, a microdrama platform operated by COL Group International. This marks the first time that the mobile-first content will be available outside of its native app.
The distribution of these titles is set to begin in the second quarter of 2026 across various VOD and TVOD platforms using BayView’s DotstudioPRO distribution technology. The deal was announced by BayView president Peter Castro and FlareFlow CEO James Wang.
The slate of titles includes popular series such as “Who’s the Real Bride?,” “My Christmas Lover,” “My Werewolf Husband,” “Mistress With a Secret,” “The Blind Heiress Strikes Back,” and “Naked Truth at Crazy Beach.”
FlareFlow, which launched in April 2025 on iOS and Android, has quickly become a major player in the microdrama sector, specializing in short-form serialized narratives tailored for vertical viewing. With over 25 million subscribers worldwide, FlareFlow’s parent company, COL Group International, has been a leader in microdrama storytelling for years.
This acquisition marks BayView’s entry into the vertical-format scripted programming space. With a catalog of over 3,500 titles spanning various genres, including award-winning films premiered at prestigious festivals like Sundance and Tribeca, BayView is now venturing into the rapidly growing world of microdrama.
FlareFlow’s content is designed to deliver engaging narrative stories in episodes under 90 seconds, featuring cliffhanger endings to keep viewers hooked. The productions are shot specifically for vertical screens, offering a unique viewing experience tailored for mobile audiences.
James Wang, CEO of FlareFlow, highlighted the immediate impact of the platform’s content, catering to viewers who prefer quick and engaging storytelling. The partnership with BayView Entertainment aims to introduce North American audiences to this innovative genre beyond the confines of mobile apps.
Peter Castro emphasized the increasing popularity of short-form scripted content globally, noting the growing demand for vertical entertainment. The partnership with FlareFlow allows BayView to explore this demand across traditional digital retail and VOD platforms.
Following a merger with DotstudioPRO in 2025, BayView now has an extensive library of over 7,500 titles, combining content management systems and distribution operations to enhance their offerings.
COL Group International, operating in over 170 territories, continues to expand its partnerships with writers, studios, and distributors for its microdrama platforms, solidifying its position as a key player in the industry.
