Bitcoin Core Developer Sjors Provoost: Bitcoin Core The Project

At the MIT Bitcoin Expo last month, I had the opportunity to sit down with Bitcoin Core developer Sjors Provoost. Sjors, a physicist turned Bitcoin developer, has been contributing to Bitcoin Core since 2017. This was a turbulent time for the Bitcoin community, with the activation of Segregated Witness and the block size wars taking center stage.

In addition to his work on Bitcoin Core, Sjors co-hosts the podcast “Bitcoin, Explained” with Aaron van Wirdum, the Editor in Chief of Bitcoin Magazine. Recently, he authored the book “Bitcoin: A Work In Progress” which delves into the technical aspects of Bitcoin, with each chapter corresponding to an episode of the podcast.

During our conversation, Sjors shed light on the Bitcoin Core project itself. He discussed its organization, the experience of working on it, and the challenges that developers may face when contributing directly to the project. It was fascinating to hear about the inner workings of such an important aspect of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

For those interested in learning more, I highly recommend watching the interview with Sjors Provoost. His insights and expertise provide valuable insights into the world of Bitcoin development.
