Blackpink’s Lisa, Don Lee to Lead ‘Extraction’ Universe Film ‘Tygo’

Netflix has recently announced the upcoming release of “Tygo,” an action-packed thriller featuring popular Blackpink member Lalisa “Lisa” Manobal alongside Korean action star Don Lee and “Squid Game” actor Lee Jin-uk.

This new project is an exciting addition to Netflix’s successful “Extraction” franchise, combining Korean filmmaking expertise with the streamer’s action-packed offerings. Produced by Big Punch Pictures, AGBO, and TGIM, with Nova Film Inc and B&C Group as co-producers, “Tygo” is based on an original graphic novel created by Anthony and Joe Russo with Ande Parks.

The storyline of “Tygo” follows the character of Tygo, portrayed by Don Lee, a former child soldier turned mercenary on a quest for revenge within Korea’s criminal underworld. The film will be directed by Lee Sang-yong, known for his work on “The Roundup” series.

Expressing her excitement for the project, Lisa shared, “I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing film and to work alongside such talented actors. Starring in an action movie has always been a dream of mine, and to debut in such an exhilarating project is truly special.”

The “Extraction” franchise has been a massive success for Netflix, with the first film attracting 90 million households within its initial four weeks and the second installment maintaining the top spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies list for seven weeks, garnering over 123 million views.

With its star-studded cast, compelling storyline, and high-octane action, “Tygo” is set to captivate audiences and continue the success of the “Extraction” universe on Netflix.
