‘Blue Bloods’ Star Bridget Moynahan to Guest Star on ‘Boston Blue’
Fans of the hit series “Blue Bloods” will be delighted to see a familiar face in the upcoming CBS spinoff, “Boston Blue.” Bridget Moynahan is set to reprise her role as Erin Reagan in the series premiere and will also take on the role of director for an episode of the show.
CBS announced on Friday that Moynahan will make a “special guest appearance” in the premiere episode, which will follow Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as he joins the Boston police department as a detective. Moynahan has previously directed multiple episodes of “Blue Bloods.”
Joining Wahlberg on “Boston Blue” are Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters.
The logline for the new series, premiering on Friday, October 17 at 10 p.m. ET, reads: “In ‘Boston Blue,’ a universe expansion of the long-running drama ‘Blue Bloods,’ Wahlberg reprises his role as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston PD and is paired with Detective Lena Silver, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.”
Produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer TV, the show is helmed by showrunners and executive producers Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg also serve as executive producers, with distribution by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Moynahan’s impressive career includes roles in “Sex and the City,” “Coyote Ugly,” “The Sum of All Fears,” “I, Robot,” and the “John Wick” franchise. She starred in “Blue Bloods” from 2010 to 2024.
Wahlberg shared the exciting news on social media, generating buzz among fans eagerly anticipating the premiere of “Boston Blue.”
