‘BoJack Horseman’ Team’s New Netflix Series Sets Cast, Release Date

Netflix’s “Long Story Short” Animated Series Announces Voice Cast
After much anticipation, the upcoming Netflix animated series “Long Story Short,” created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg of “BoJack Horseman” fame, has finally revealed its star-studded voice cast. Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, and Nicole Byer are set to lend their voices to the show, with Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz making appearances as recurring guest stars. The streaming giant has also announced that the comedy series is scheduled to premiere on August 22.
“Long Story Short,” first announced in August 2024, follows the Schwooper siblings through the years, capturing their journey from childhood to adulthood and back again, showcasing their highs, lows, and everything in between.
Bob-Waksberg takes on multiple roles in the series as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen will serve as executive producers for Tornante Television, while Lisa Hanawalt will be the supervising producer and provide original art for the show. Animation studio ShadowMachine, led by Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley, will co-executive produce and handle production from their LA studio.
Following the success of “BoJack Horseman,” Bob-Waksberg co-created the Amazon series “Undone” and worked on “Tuca & Bertie” as a writer and executive producer. “Tuca & Bertie,” created by Hanawalt, was also produced by Tornante and ShadowMachine, initially airing on Netflix before moving to Adult Swim for its final seasons.
“BoJack Horseman” marked Netflix’s first original adult animated series, running for six seasons and receiving critical acclaim throughout its tenure. The show garnered Emmy nominations for outstanding animated program and featured a talented voice cast including Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, Paul F. Thompkins, and Margo Martindale.
