Apple Begins Production on “Ted Lasso” Season 4
Apple TV+ has officially announced that filming for the highly anticipated fourth season of the hit sports comedy series, “Ted Lasso,” has commenced. The new season is currently being shot in Kansas City, with additional filming scheduled to take place in London. Fans can catch a first glimpse of the upcoming season in the teaser above.
The return of Jason Sudeikis as the titular character, Ted Lasso, was confirmed earlier, along with the news that original cast members Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift will all be reprising their roles for Season 4.
Joining the cast for the new season are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. While details about their characters are being kept under wraps, it has been revealed that Feely will be portraying Henry Lasso, Ted’s son.
The official synopsis for Season 4 teases Ted’s return to Richmond as he takes on the challenge of coaching a second division women’s football team. As the season unfolds, Ted and the team will learn to take risks and embrace new opportunities they never imagined.
Notable additions to the production team for Season 4 include executive producer Jack Burditt, alongside Sudeikis who also serves as an executive producer and lead actor. The series is co-executive produced by Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel, with Goldstein taking on writing and executive producing duties alongside Leanne Bowen.
“Ted Lasso” has been a critical and audience favorite since its debut in 2020, with the third season airing in 2023. The show’s heartwarming message of spreading joy and positivity resonated with viewers, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
