Bryan Kohberger’s mom texted him grim article about Idaho murders before arrest

Bryan Kohberger’s Mother Sent Him Gruesome Article About Idaho Murders Before Arrest

Bryan Kohberger, the perpetrator of the University of Idaho murders, received a chilling link from his mother, MaryAnn Kohberger, regarding the gruesome article detailing the horrific killings he had committed. The incident occurred just weeks before his eventual arrest for the cold-blooded murders.

Cell phone data analysis revealed that MaryAnn had texted her 30-year-old son a link to a news report discussing the four students who were found brutally knifed to death in their off-campus Moscow home in November 2022. The article specifically highlighted the injuries sustained by one of the victims, Xana Kernodle, who had bravely fought back during the attack.

Although the exact nature of their conversation was unclear, the data indicated that Bryan did not directly respond to the text from his mother. However, they had lengthy phone conversations on the same day, with the expert suggesting that they likely discussed the Idaho murders during their calls.

Jared Barnhart, one of the forensic experts who analyzed the cell phone data, mentioned that Bryan may have been deleting text exchanges with his mother. He also speculated that their discussions could have been primarily voice calls without recorded words.

It’s important to note that there is no implication that MaryAnn Kohberger was aware of her son’s heinous crimes when she sent him the article.

Life Sentence for Kohberger

Despite the chilling revelations, Bryan Kohberger was not apprehended until December 30. Following his arrest, he was sentenced in July to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murders of Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin.
