Calabasas Viewpoint school teacher hit with child molestation, child pornography charges
A teacher at a prestigious private academy in Calabasas, where President Trump’s daughter is an alum, is facing serious charges related to child molestation and child pornography. Travis Shojinaga, 39, who worked at the Viewpoint School, has been accused of taking inappropriate photos of students.
Shojinaga has been charged with four counts of misdemeanor child molestation and one count of felony possession of child pornography. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station. If convicted, he could face more than three years in prison.
The Viewpoint School, where tuition is $55,000 a year, announced that a faculty member had been fired for “inappropriate behavior that occurred on campus” but did not involve physical contact. Head of School Mark McKee stated that as soon as they learned of the accusations against Shojinaga, they contacted the police and terminated his employment.
The school is working closely with law enforcement and will conduct its own investigation with the help of an outside party. Shojinaga had been working at the Viewpoint School for over a decade, according to his Facebook profile.
Graduates of the Viewpoint School include President Trump’s youngest daughter, Tiffany, and former NBA player Miye Oni. In response to the situation, McKee offered counseling to students and encouraged them to come forward if they had any concerns.
The Viewpoint School community is deeply upset by the allegations against Shojinaga and is committed to providing support and resources to those who may need it during this difficult time. The school is taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of its students and staff.
