Callous home invaders choke, punch elderly victims in brazen NYC home invasion: cops
A terrifying incident occurred in Flushing this week when two heartless home invaders targeted a 70-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man in their own apartment. The culprits broke in through the front door of the residence located at Sanford Avenue and College Point Boulevard around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, according to authorities.
Upon gaining entry, the suspects proceeded to physically assault both victims, choking and punching them before making off with $700 from the woman and $50 from the man. The exact relationship between the victims remains unclear, and the attackers are believed to be strangers to them.
Surveillance footage released by the NYPD captured the two perpetrators ascending an outdoor staircase to reach the second-floor landing. One of the suspects was easily identifiable by their long dreadlocks, black T-shirt featuring the R&B girl group TLC, black sweatpants, and white Versace sneakers. The other individual was bald and dressed in a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
As of Friday, both violent robbers were still at large. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
