Cam Spencer sparks a short-handed Grizzlies rout of the Mavericks, 124-105
The Memphis Grizzlies showcased a dominant performance as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 124-105 on Friday night. Cam Spencer came off the bench to lead the Grizzlies with an impressive 25 points, while Olivier-Maxence Prosper contributed a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Scotty Pippen Jr. added 15 points, and Jaylen Wells and GG Jackson each chipped in 12 points to help Memphis snap a three-game losing streak.
Despite missing key players like Ja Morant, Zach Edey, and Cedric Coward, the Grizzlies controlled the game from start to finish. Taj Gibson, who was recently signed to help with the team’s absences, was not active for the game.
On the Mavericks side, Brandon Williams led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds. Daniel Gafford, Dwight Powell, and Max Christie also contributed double-digit points for Dallas. Rookie Cooper Flagg missed his sixth consecutive game due to a sprained foot.
Although the Mavericks tried to make a comeback in the second quarter, the Grizzlies pulled away with a 20-8 run to lead by 20 points at halftime. Memphis extended their lead to a game-high 34 points twice in the third quarter, ultimately securing the victory.
Looking ahead, the Grizzlies will face the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night, while the Mavericks will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on the same evening.
