Candice Bergen to Guest Star on ‘Shrinking’ Opposite Michael J. Fox

Apple TV+ fans have another reason to be excited as Candice Bergen joins the star-studded cast of the hit series “Shrinking.” Co-creator Bill Lawrence made the big reveal during a panel at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, where he announced that the iconic actress would be joining the likes of Harrison Ford and Michael J. Fox in the upcoming Season 3.

Lawrence expressed his admiration for Fox, whom he worked with on his first sitcom, “Spin City.” He described Fox as one of the greatest people he’s ever met and a mentor to him. The opportunity to work with Fox again, alongside Ford and Bergen, was a career highlight that Lawrence did not expect at this stage in his career.

While Lawrence did not reveal details about Bergen’s role in “Shrinking,” he did provide some background on the series. Co-created with Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel, the show follows the story of Jimmy, a therapist dealing with grief who starts to make significant changes in the lives of his patients, friends, family, and himself. The star-studded cast also includes Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley.

In addition to Fox and Bergen, Season 3 of “Shrinking” will feature new cast members Jeff Daniels, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez. Bergen has recently made guest appearances on shows like “And Just Like Us” and “The Conners.”

Lawrence reminisced about his time working with Fox on “Spin City,” recalling a moment when Fox’s feedback helped him gain confidence as a young creator.
