A tragic incident unfolded in the town of Nunspeet, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands, on Monday night. The festive atmosphere quickly turned somber as the parade was abruptly halted following the tragic event. Mayor Jan Nathan Rozendaal expressed deep concern and sadness over the unexpected turn of events, stating, “What should have been a moment of solidarity ends in great worry and sadness.”

Law enforcement identified the driver as a 56-year-old woman from Nunspeet, who sustained minor injuries in the crash. Following standard procedure for serious traffic accidents, the driver was taken into custody for further questioning.
