Changpeng Zhao’s Giggle Academy & American Legion Launch $2M Blockchain Scholarship For Military Families

New Scholarship Initiative Launched for Children of Fallen and Disabled Service Members

Giggle Academy and American Legion Charities have joined forces in a groundbreaking $2 million partnership to introduce a new scholarship program aimed at supporting the children of America’s fallen and disabled service members through education in blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI).

The program will offer educational grants of up to $20,000 to underserved students from military families, particularly those affected by the loss or disability of a parent in the line of duty. Central to the initiative is an annual competition focusing on practical blockchain and AI concepts, challenging participants to address the question: “What’s broken, and how would you fix it?”

Established in 2024 by tech entrepreneur and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Giggle Academy is a free, gamified, AI-driven education platform that emphasizes real-world, job-ready skills like emotional intelligence, finance, negotiation, and tech literacy, offering an inclusive alternative to traditional schooling.

“I selected the children of U.S. military families as the initial beneficiaries of this scholarship program because they understand the true meaning of service,” said CZ. “They have witnessed its sacrifices firsthand. They embody qualities like courage, discipline, and resilience, often alongside profound grief—but they also embody a culture of selfless leadership. If we are starting anew to revolutionize education for underserved populations, let’s begin with the children whose parents made the ultimate sacrifice.”

With over 2 million post-9/11 military children in the U.S. and 750 million illiterate adults globally, the initiative aims to bridge longstanding educational disparities. The American Legion, with a rich history of supporting veteran families for over a century, brings credibility and experience to the cause.

“Military families make tremendous sacrifices and contributions, yet they are often overlooked, especially after they hang up their uniforms,” stated the American Legion. “We are thankful that Giggle Academy has partnered with us to convey to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and to their children, ‘you are not forgotten.’”

This scholarship program will connect military children with cutting-edge learning tools and a tailored curriculum designed for individuals who have faced significant hardships in life.

“Through this collaboration with Giggle Academy, we are able to extend our commitment into the future—merging longstanding service traditions with advanced educational opportunities,” added the American Legion. “Together, we are not just honoring sacrifice; we are creating pathways to success, one child at a time.”
