Charges dropped against doctor accused of giving fake Covid shots

The federal government made a surprising move on Saturday by dismissing charges against a Utah plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Kirk Moore, who was accused of some serious offenses. The charges included throwing away COVID-19 vaccines, administering saline shots to children instead of the actual vaccine, and selling fake vaccination cards.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi took to social media to announce the dismissal of the charges against Dr. Moore. The decision was made in light of the fact that Moore and other defendants were facing up to 35 years in prison for various charges including conspiracy to defraud the government and aiding in the conversion and sale of government property. The charges were initially brought when Joe Biden was president.

Bondi defended Dr. Moore by stating that he provided his patients with a choice when the federal government failed to do so. She believed that Dr. Moore did not deserve the harsh punishment he was facing and took the necessary steps to end the legal proceedings against him.

Felice John Viti, acting U.S. attorney for Utah, filed a motion to dismiss the charges, citing that it was in the interest of justice to do so. The trial, which had commenced in Salt Lake City with jury selection, was expected to last 15 days before the sudden turn of events.

The allegations against Dr. Moore and his associates included the destruction of over $28,000 worth of government-provided COVID-19 vaccine doses, as well as the issuance of fraudulent vaccination record cards for more than 1,900 doses in exchange for cash or donations. Additionally, some children were reportedly given saline shots instead of the vaccine, at the request of their parents.

Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., a prominent anti-vaccine activist turned government official, expressed his support for Dr. Moore in April. Kennedy, who has been known for his controversial views on vaccines, commended Moore for his actions and dedication to healing.

In a surprising revelation, Bondi mentioned that Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had brought the case to her attention. This development adds another layer of complexity to the already controversial case.

The dismissal of charges against Dr. Moore marks a significant turn of events in a case that garnered national attention. It remains to be seen what implications this decision will have on the ongoing discourse surrounding COVID-19 vaccines and healthcare practices.
