Chelsea handed boost as transfer target appears to like social media post linking him with a summer move to the club

Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho, who is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after a fallout with manager Ruben Amorim. The 21-year-old was unhappy about starting the Europa League final on the bench, where the Red Devils lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur. His public comments questioning the decision led to tensions with Amorim, sealing his fate at the club.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea are interested in Garnacho and believe he could be an asset under Enzo Maresca. Acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano posted a picture of Garnacho alongside RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons on Instagram, hinting at Chelsea’s interest in both players. Garnacho’s social media activity, where he liked the post, further fueled speculation about a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had previously shown interest in Garnacho in January but failed to secure a deal. Manchester United’s asking price of £70 million was a stumbling block then, but a reduced offer of £40 million could see the transfer go through this summer. With the Blues actively strengthening their attack in the transfer window, Garnacho could be the latest addition to their squad.

In other transfer news, Armando Broja is set to leave Chelsea to join Burnley, according to reports from The BBC. The Armenian striker, who spent last season on loan at Everton, failed to impress and was not retained by the Toffees. Chelsea have agreed on a deal with Burnley worth around £20 million, but Broja is yet to give his approval for the move. However, the 23-year-old is reportedly open to joining Turf Moor, where he has been offered a five-year contract.

Chelsea’s busy transfer window has seen them offload several players, including Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and Kepa Arrizabalaga. With Broja likely to depart soon, the Blues continue to reshape their squad under new manager Enzo Maresca. The transfer window is expected to see more activity from Chelsea as they aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
