Chicago post-Christmas mass shooting leaves 1 dead, 3 wounded
A tragic incident unfolded in Chicago early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 34-year-old man and leaving three others injured. The Chicago Police Department reported that the four victims were targeted as they were getting into a car around 2:35 a.m. Four assailants approached them and opened fire, as reported by ABC 7 Chicago.
The fatal shooting took place on North La Salle Drive in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, near Downtown. The deceased man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at Northwestern Hospital. The gunmen quickly fled the scene in a vehicle following the attack.
Authorities cordoned off the area with crime scene tape, with video footage capturing the police response to the incident. The victims included a 36-year-old man shot in the chest, a 43-year-old man shot in the back, and a 35-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds. All three injured individuals were rushed to Northwestern Hospital for treatment, although their current medical conditions remain undisclosed.
