Chilling video shows Iryna Zarutska’s cold-blooded accused killer calmly walk off Charlotte train after fatal stabbing

The chilling videos capturing the haunting moment Iryna Zarutska’s alleged killer, Decarlos Brown, calmly stepped off a North Carolina train and strolled along the platform after allegedly stabbing the Ukrainian refugee to death have shocked the nation. The disturbing surveillance footage, obtained by The Post, shows Brown casually roaming the Charlotte platform as panicked straphangers scream for help and flee the Lynx Blue Line, minutes after the 23-year-old victim was repeatedly knifed on the packed commuter train on August 22.

Brown, a homeless schizophrenic career criminal with a history of 13 prior convictions and a pending trial, was seen clutching a red hoodie – the same one he was wearing during the brutal attack on Zarutska. The unprovoked assault left Zarutska with three stab wounds, including one in the neck, with a pocket knife.

In another video, Brown is seen leaving one platform, crossing the street, and entering another, where he appeared to be smoking a cigarette and talking to himself. Moments later, four armed officers ran up and tackled him to the ground as the train where the bloody incident unfolded remained parked at the station.

Zarutska, who had come to the US in 2022 seeking a safer life after Russia invaded Ukraine, was pronounced dead on the light rail. Previously released footage from inside the crowded train showed the terrified victim cowering with her hands over her face, looking up at her killer in fear after being stabbed during the random attack. Zarutska collapsed to the floor seconds later as her attacker strode down the train car, leaving a trail of blood behind him.

Horrified bystanders quickly called 911, providing a description of the alleged slasher while Zarutska lay unconscious, bleeding out. Brown now faces federal and state charges and could potentially receive the death penalty if convicted.

The cold-blooded nature of the attack and the calm demeanor exhibited by Brown in the aftermath of the gruesome incident have left the community in shock.
