Chrysler recalling more than 250,000 Voyager and Pacifica vehicles to repair potential airbag problem
Chrysler Recalls Pacifica and Voyager Vehicles for Side Curtain Airbag Issue
Chrysler has announced a voluntary recall of certain 2022-2025 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles to address potential issues with their side curtain airbags. The recall, affecting approximately 250,651 vehicles, aims to replace the airbags if necessary.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has identified that some side curtain airbags in these vehicles may not maintain sufficient pressure during deployment, increasing the risk to passengers in certain crash scenarios. This issue is attributed to improperly sealed seams, prompting Chrysler to inspect and replace the airbags at no cost to the customers.
While there have been no reported injuries or accidents related to this issue, Chrysler’s parent company is urging affected customers to heed the instructions provided in their recall notices.
This recall comes on the heels of previous safety concerns raised by Stellantis-owned Chrysler. In 2024, the company recalled over 211,000 SUVs and pickup trucks in the U.S. due to a software malfunction that could disable the electronic stability control systems. Additionally, a separate recall was issued for Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars in response to a manufacturing defect that could lead to unexpected airbag ruptures, posing a serious risk to passengers.
