Chuck Lorre Pays Tribute to Bob Broder; Memorial Set

Chuck Lorre, the renowned TV producer and creator of hit sitcoms like “Two and a Half Men” and “The Big Bang Theory,” is set to pay tribute to his longtime agent and business mentor Bob Broder in the upcoming Season 2 premiere of his CBS show “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.”

Bob Broder, who sadly passed away at the age of 85 last month, played a crucial role in Chuck Lorre’s career for over a decade. He served as the business leader of Chuck Lorre Productions, overseeing lucrative deals with Warner Bros. Television. Prior to that, Broder represented Lorre as an agent at Broder Kurland and ICM Partners. With Lorre’s string of successful sitcoms, such as “Two and a Half Men,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and “Young Sheldon,” Broder ensured that Lorre’s interests were well-protected in licensing deals for these shows.

Chuck Lorre is known for his signature vanity cards that appear at the end of each episode of his shows. In the Season 2 premiere of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” set to air on Oct. 16, a touching tribute to Bob Broder will be featured. The vanity card will showcase a picture of Broder sitting with his beloved golden retriever, Lola Pearl, on his lap, exuding a sense of strength and wisdom.

The card will include a heartfelt message that reads, “For twenty-five years, his presence guaranteed there was at least one grown-up in the room,” reflecting the profound impact that Broder had on Lorre’s career and life.

In honor of Bob Broder, his family has organized a memorial service to be held on Nov. 8 at the Steven J. Ross Theater on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. Broder was not only a key figure in Chuck Lorre’s career but also represented other influential showrunners and directors in the industry, including James Burrows, Christopher Lloyd, and Glen Charles and Les Charles, the co-creators of “Cheers.” His legacy as a respected elder statesman in the entertainment business will be remembered by many.

The tribute to Bob Broder in the upcoming episode of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” will undoubtedly be a touching and fitting farewell to a man who played a significant role in shaping Chuck Lorre’s success in the television industry.
