CNN’s Scott Jennings calls MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell ‘irrelevant,’ ‘lunatic’

In a recent exchange, CNN political commentator Scott Jennings criticized MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, referring to him as a “lunatic” and a “failed media personality” after O’Donnell accused him of being paid to spread misinformation about Donald Trump on air.

“There’s this lunatic on MSNBC at 10 o’clock every night named Lawrence O’Donnell,” Jennings stated on his show, “The Scott Jennings Radio Show.”

Jennings highlighted O’Donnell’s attack as stemming from jealousy due to declining ratings, labeling him as an “irrelevant” figure in the media landscape.

According to Jennings, his appearances on CNN’s “NewsNight with Abby Phillip” outperformed O’Donnell’s “Last Word” in the Nielsen ratings by 30% in the key advertising demographic of viewers aged 25 to 54 during October.

On the other hand, O’Donnell initiated the feud by criticizing CNN’s programming and accusing Jennings of being a dishonest Trump supporter to enhance his own visibility.

Despite Nielsen figures showing O’Donnell attracting a larger overall audience than Phillip, Jennings emphasized the competitive edge his show had over O’Donnell’s in the specified demographic.

The ongoing clash between the two media personalities has sparked interest and controversy within the media industry.

The Post has reached out to CNN and MSNBC for their responses to the situation.
