Colin Jost Tells Scarlett Johansson Joke in SNL Joke Swap With Michael Che
Colin Jost and Michael Che from “Saturday Night Live” continued their Christmas tradition of writing offensive jokes for each other to tell on Weekend Update. However, this year, Che tricked Jost into thinking they weren’t doing the swap, leaving Jost to read all the jokes, much to Che and the audience’s amusement.
Che didn’t hold back with his jokes aimed at Jost, reminiscent of the time he made Jost roast his wife Scarlett Johansson while she watched from backstage. Jost reluctantly read out jokes like, “Critics say a new series of coins from the U.S. Mint celebrating great moments in the country’s history ignore civil rights. But what about the coin that celebrates where Black people actually come from — ships,” causing laughter from Che and the audience.
The jokes didn’t stop there, with Jost delivering lines like, “The archdiocese of New York will set up a fund for victims of church sexual abuse. Yet I get nothing for keeping my mouth shut and taking it like a champ?” The audience gasped and chuckled at Jost’s bold delivery, while Che teased him about not writing jokes for him.
Jost also joked about women leaving the workforce due to menopause, quipping, “Which means there’s only a couple years left on my gravy train.” A photo of Johansson appeared on screen as Jost made light of her experiencing hot flashes, saying, “Bitch, you having a hot flash.” He ended with a joke about Wednesday Addams, showing a photo of Jenna Ortega’s character from Netflix.
The banter between Jost and Che was entertaining and kept the audience laughing throughout the segment. It’s clear that their comedic chemistry and willingness to push boundaries make them a dynamic duo on “Saturday Night Live.”
