Colorado cideries win big at Cidercraft Awards 2025
Local cider makers in Colorado are making waves in the industry, with Snow Capped Cider and Fenceline Cider receiving top honors at the recent 8th annual Cidercraft Awards. Snow Capped Cider, based in Cedaredge, took home an impressive 22 medals, including five platinum awards, while Fenceline Cider in Mancos also received recognition with two awards.
The Cidercraft Awards judges blind taste test the beverages and award medals based on their quality. Colorado cideries dominated the “high tannin (dry)” category, with Snow Capped’s Kingston Black and Fenceline’s Kingston Black (2023) both receiving top honors. Snow Capped also excelled in the “modern (sweet)” category with multiple platinum and gold medals for their different cider recipes.
Owner and head cidermaker of Snow Capped Cider, Kari Williams, expressed her pride in the recognition they have received, crediting their success to their dedication to showcasing the story of their orchards and Colorado through their cider. The cidery has also been recognized at the Great American Beer Festival in 2024.
In addition to their medal hauls, Snow Capped Cider and Fenceline Cider received judges’ picks at the Cidercraft Awards, further solidifying their reputation in the industry.
