Cops arrest naked woman after four-hour standoff in Los Angeles with dog in car
Cops in West Hollywood arrested a naked woman after a brief chase and a four-hour standoff on Tuesday morning. The LAPD confirmed that they pursued the woman after receiving reports of an assault involving a screaming, nude individual. The woman, who has not been identified by police, fled in a Ford Bronco with a small dog in the back seat, as shown in aerial footage from KTLA.
Upon surrounding the Bronco, the woman refused to exit the vehicle for nearly four hours, even throwing a hammer out of the car window at one point. Mental health experts were called to the scene, and officers used spike strips to prevent her from driving away. Eventually, she climbed out of the window of the Bronco still unclothed. Officers then wrapped her in a white sheet and took her into custody without further incident.
The woman’s Ford Bronco, which contained a dog, was towed from the scene. An officer mentioned that the woman surrendered when police threatened to use tear gas canisters on the car, as reported by FOX 11.
This incident occurred shortly after another high-profile naked escapade in north LA involving Lil Nas X, who was seen wandering the streets in underwear and allegedly attacked police officers before being arrested and charged with four felonies.
The dramatic standoff in West Hollywood highlights the complexities of handling individuals in distress and the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in ensuring public safety while also addressing mental health concerns.
