Cops search for missing puppy hurled at them by suspect

A puppy named Money has gone missing in California after being thrown at sheriff’s deputies by a suspect trying to evade arrest. The incident occurred in the town of Salinas in Monterey County, where deputies approached the suspect, later identified as Orlando Figueroa-Martinez, 38, and tried to take him into custody. In a desperate attempt to escape, Figueroa-Martinez threw the 6-month-old miniature Doberman pinscher at the deputies before fleeing the scene.

The poor puppy, named Money, disappeared during the chaos that ensued. In an effort to locate the missing dog, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office released a somewhat shocking blurry image of Money with bulging eyes and bared fangs. The image received mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing concern for the dog’s well-being.

However, the sheriff’s office later clarified that Money did not belong to the suspect and had a loving owner who wanted him back. Despite the less-than-cuddly photo released by the department, the owner assured that Money is friendly and likely scared after the traumatic experience.

Figueroa-Martinez was later arrested and charged with felony weapons charges and animal abuse counts. The sheriff’s office reported that he ignored lawful commands and threw the dog at a deputy while resisting arrest. Law enforcement officials are now seeking the community’s help in locating Money and ensuring his safe return home.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern for Money’s well-being, with many hoping for his swift and safe return. The sheriff’s office is urging anyone who may have information about Money’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in reuniting him with his owner. The search for Money continues as authorities work to bring the missing puppy back home.
