Crazed San Bernardino County man allegedly pushes woman out of a moving vehicle – then tries to run her over
A man from San Bernardino County was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle and then attempting to run her over. Joseph Outlaw, 36, of Apple Valley, was a passenger in the victim’s car when they got into a domestic dispute while driving on Seventh Street in Victorville.
According to the Victorville Police Department, Outlaw forced the woman out of the vehicle onto the street and then got into the driver’s seat and drove the car towards her in an attempt to harm her. Fortunately, the victim was able to dodge the vehicle and avoid being hit.
After the incident, Outlaw fled the scene in the victim’s car, leaving her injured. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and her current condition is unknown. Police later found the woman’s vehicle parked on Zenda Street near Center Street.
Deputies and detectives located Outlaw in the area and he attempted to escape on foot. However, after a short pursuit, he was apprehended without further incident. Outlaw was then arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on charges of attempted murder, obstructing justice, and reckless driving.
As of Wednesday, Outlaw was being held at High Desert on a bail amount of $1,025,000. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed his custody. It is unclear if Outlaw has legal representation at this time.
This incident highlights the importance of swift police action in responding to domestic disputes and violent behavior. The victim’s quick thinking and law enforcement’s prompt response likely prevented a more tragic outcome. The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of escalating disputes and the importance of seeking help in volatile situations.
