Crunchyroll Rolls Out Thai Interface, Expands Localized Library
Crunchyroll Expands Presence in Thailand with Thai-Language Interface and Localized Content
Crunchyroll, a popular anime platform, is making significant strides in Thailand with the launch of a Thai-language user interface and a substantial increase in localized anime content. The company is now offering over 500 titles to Thai subscribers, including more than 70 with Thai dubbing and 300 with Thai subtitles. This expansion adds 70 new titles to the service, with 26 additional Thai dubs and 44 Thai-subtitled offerings, demonstrating Crunchyroll’s commitment to catering to the vibrant anime community in Southeast Asia.
Subscribers in Thailand can access the service starting at THB99 per month ($3.15) or THB799 ($25.50) annually for the Fan tier, with the Mega Fan plan priced at THB119 ($3.80) monthly or THB999 ($31.80) per year. Crunchyroll is currently streaming over 40 winter season simulcasts with Thai localization, including popular titles like “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3, “Fire Force” Season 3, and “Sentenced to Be a Hero.”
The company’s investment in the Thai market comes as it reports a 50% year-over-year increase in viewership from Thailand, making it the fourth largest market globally for anime engagement. Last year, Thailand’s enthusiasm for anime was evident with the success of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” which became the highest-grossing anime film in the country.
Looking ahead, Crunchyroll plans to expand its Thai offerings throughout 2026, with 147 additional subtitled and dubbed titles in the pipeline. By July, the platform aims to offer approximately 772 anime titles in Thailand, including 228 with Thai dubs, marking a 50% growth in the content library. To support the launch, Crunchyroll is rolling out its “Choose Unordinary” brand campaign in Thailand, featuring original character Hime in creative executions.
Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll, expressed excitement about the company’s growth in Thailand, stating, “With our Thai-language interface, increased Thai-dubbed and subtitled content, and faster access to simulcasts and localised dubs, we’re making it easier for fans to enjoy anime in their own language week after week.” Crunchyroll will also be participating in Animonium 2026, a Bangkok anime and Japanese pop culture festival, where it will serve as the official sponsor of the event’s live music concerts.
Crunchyroll, an independently operated joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), continues to solidify its presence in the global anime market, with a focus on delivering high-quality content to fans around the world.
