Authorities are on the lookout for a burglar who broke into a home in Staten Island and made off with a valuable painting worth half a million dollars. The incident occurred on Tottenville Place near Wards Point Avenue on May 15, when the unidentified thief smashed a window to gain entry into the residence.
The stolen painting, titled “City Gleaners,” is a work by the world-renowned artist T.F. Chen. Chen, known not only for his art but also for his contributions as an art historian, writer, and philosopher, has established the T. F. Chen Cultural Center in NYC and has showcased his work in over 100 solo exhibitions globally.
The owner of the painting, a 68-year-old woman, was not present at the time of the robbery.
