‘Dances With Wolves’ actor Graham Greene dies at 73
Actor Graham Greene, known for his role in the Oscar-nominated film “Dances With Wolves,” has passed away at the age of 73 after a long illness, his agent confirmed to ABC News. Greene starred alongside Kevin Costner in the 1990 film, which won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
In “Dances With Wolves,” Greene played the character Kicking Bird, a member of the Sioux tribe who forms a bond with Costner’s character, a Civil War soldier who integrates into their way of life. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Apart from his role in “Dances With Wolves,” Greene appeared in several other notable films, including “Maverick” (1994), “Die Hard With a Vengeance” (1995), “The Green Mile” (1999), “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” (2009), and “Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game” (2017).
Following his death, Greene’s agent, Michael Greene, released a statement expressing admiration for the actor’s work and dedication to his craft. He mentioned that Greene was deeply passionate about representing his people and making a positive impact on the world.
Graham Greene is survived by his wife, Hilary Blackmore, daughter Lilly Lazare-Greene, and grandson Tarlo. His legacy as a talented actor and advocate for his community will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
