Decomposing leg belonging to missing pedophile found in Tennessee creek
A dismembered leg found in a Tennessee creek on the Fourth of July has been identified as belonging to Joseph Frank Benton, a wanted criminal facing multiple charges. Benton has been missing since he was charged with unlawful possession of weapons, explosives, and sexual exploitation of a minor in 2024. The leg was discovered in Sulphur Fork Creek, located in Robertson County, just outside of Springfield, where Benton was last known to reside. Wix, who briefly lived with the Benton family, disappeared along with her daughter, but their bodies were never found.
