Deputy AG Todd Blanche says DOJ releasing 3.5 million Epstein files

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche made a significant announcement at a news conference on Friday, revealing that the Department of Justice is preparing to release a vast amount of investigative material related to the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The files in question consist of approximately 3.5 million pages of documentation, which include over 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. Blanche emphasized that not all of the images and videos were captured by Epstein himself, indicating that some of the material was sourced from other individuals in his circle.

During the news conference, Blanche highlighted the presence of a substantial amount of commercial pornography within the files, as well as images that were retrieved from Epstein’s electronic devices. It was clarified that while some of the videos and images were indeed recorded by Epstein or individuals associated with him, not all of the content can be attributed directly to him.

The Department of Justice has dedicated significant resources to the task of processing and releasing this multitude of documents, photos, and videos. This effort is in compliance with a recent law enacted by Congress and signed by former President Trump. Blanche revealed that DOJ and FBI personnel have been working diligently on a full-time basis to ensure the timely dissemination of these materials to the public.

In addition to the release of the investigative material, Blanche mentioned that the DOJ will be providing Congress with a detailed letter outlining the protocols and legal justifications for any redactions that may have been made in the documents. This transparency is aimed at ensuring that the public has access to as much information as possible regarding the Epstein case.
