Disney+ and CJ ENM’s Tving Launch Bundle Deal in Korea
Disney+ Partners with Tving in South Korea for Bundled Subscription Packages
Disney+ has made history by collaborating with CJ ENM‘s Korean streaming platform Tving to offer bundled subscription packages that combine global and local content at discounted rates. This partnership marks the first of its kind between an international and local streaming service in South Korea.
Korean consumers now have two bundle options to choose from: a Disney+, Tving, and local streamer Wavve package priced at KRW21,500 ($14.60) per month, providing up to 37% savings compared to separate subscriptions. Another option is a Disney+-Tving bundle priced at KRW18,000 ($12.30) per month, offering a 23% discount against the combined cost of Disney+ Standard and Tving Standard.
These bundled plans grant access to Disney’s renowned franchise content from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Hulu, alongside Disney+ Korean originals and popular Korean dramas, variety programming, and entertainment from Tving, Wavve, and CJ ENM.
The partnership in Korea follows a successful content collaboration in Japan. Disney+ Japan has recently introduced up to 60 Korean titles, including hits like “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin)” and “Reply 1988” from CJ ENM. Additionally, Tving’s original series “Dear X” premiered exclusively on Disney+ Japan, marking a significant entry into the Japanese market.
Tony Zameczkowski, senior VP and general manager of direct-to-consumer for Asia Pacific at Walt Disney Company, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “By partnering with Tving and Wavve, we’re expanding our reach, enriching the content ecosystem, and offering greater value to consumers. We’re also proud to support the global journey of Korean content and hope this sets a new standard for cross-border collaboration in the streaming industry.”
Kim Soyoun, managing director of Walt Disney Company Korea, added, “This collaboration not only enhances the value we offer to Korean consumers but also strengthens our role as a bridge between local creativity and global audiences.”
Tving CEO Julie Choi also shared her excitement about the partnership, stating, “We look forward to seeing more Korean stories reach new audiences around the world and be loved by them through our collaboration with Disney+ Japan.”
As Disney+ continues to expand its Korean content slate with originals like “Moving,” “Low Life,” and “Tempest,” along with new formats like the mid-form variety series “Weekly Entertainment Arcade,” the platform solidifies itself as a premier destination for both Disney’s extensive catalog of global entertainment and the growing Korean productions.
