Dognapping duo snatch 2 French bulldogs from NYC home during string of violent heists: cops

A daring duo of dognappers struck a Queens home over the weekend, making off with two French bulldogs and a haul of clothing. The incident occurred at a Long Island City apartment on Crane Street and Jackson Avenue around 10 p.m. on Saturday, according to police reports.
The victim, who was not present during the theft, discovered the crime through security footage. The footage revealed the thieves entering the apartment and snatching the valuable dogs, along with the clothing. The resident had locked the door before leaving, leading to questions about how the culprits gained entry.
Prior to the dognapping, the same pair targeted a 31-year-old man on Crane Street, brandishing a gun and assaulting him before stealing his iPhone and house keys. The suspects fled in a white car, leaving the victim shaken but declining medical treatment.
Earlier in the day, the suspects carried out another violent robbery on a 27-year-old man riding a bike. Wearing black masks, they approached the victim in their white car, pulled him inside, and proceeded to rob him of his iPhone and $800. The victim sought medical attention at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital following the attack.
The suspects are described as one man with a light complexion, aged between 20 and 25, standing at 5-foot-8 and weighing around 180 pounds. The other suspect, with a darker complexion, is believed to be around the same age, standing at 6 feet tall, and weighing approximately 220 pounds.
The spree of crimes spanned approximately six hours in Long Island City on Saturday. The suspects remain at large, and anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted online at the Crime Stoppers website or via @NYPDTips on social media platforms.
The community is encouraged to come forward with any information that may lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in these brazen crimes.
