Elon Musk, PlayStation Hacker Subject of New Max Documentary Series

Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming platform, Max, has released a teaser for their upcoming documentary series, “Most Wanted: Teen Hacker.” The four-part series, set to premiere in September, follows the criminal exploits of Julius Kivimäki, a Finnish hacker dubbed by the FBI as one of the world’s most dangerous cybercriminals.
The teaser provides a glimpse into Kivimäki’s criminal activities, which began when he was just 15 years old. His hacking feats include targeting prominent figures like Elon Musk, orchestrating a global shutdown of PlayStation, and even triggering a U.S. Air Force alert by forcing a passenger jet to make an emergency landing.
The documentary delves into Kivimäki’s decade-long crime spree, showcasing his transformation from a teenage hacker operating from his bedroom to one of Europe’s most wanted criminals. Viewers will witness his luxurious lifestyle around the world before authorities finally apprehended him at a Las Vegas casino. The series features interviews with FBI agents, SWAT team members, cybersecurity experts, Kivimäki’s victims, internationally renowned hackers, and Kivimäki himself, who is currently serving time in prison.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Sami Kieksi and co-written with Joni Soila, the English-language series was filmed in various locations in the U.S. and U.K. Produced by Aller Studios, a division of the Nordic media group Aller Media Nordic, the documentary promises a gripping narrative with a global impact.
Pil Brandstrup, group VP of original production networks and streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery Nordics, emphasized the series’ importance in shedding light on cybercrime, a topic that affects individuals worldwide yet remains largely unfamiliar to many. The multi-perspective narrative includes insights from the Finnish hacker, victims, cybersecurity experts, and a former FBI agent.
“Most Wanted: Teen Hacker” will release its four episodes weekly on Fridays exclusively on Max. The series was commissioned by Brandstrup and Katja Santala, director of original production networks and streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery Finland.
Aller Studios, known for developing entertainment and documentary content for TV and streaming platforms, is part of Aller Media Nordic, a prominent media group with a 150-year history.
