Elon Musk pledges return to ’24/7′ work at his firms after widespread X outage

Elon Musk Vows to Focus on X, Tesla, and SpaceX Following Outage
Elon Musk reassured his commitment to his work at X, Tesla, and SpaceX after an X outage affected users in the US and globally. Musk stated, “Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms.” He emphasized the importance of focusing on X/xAI and Tesla’s critical technologies.
Addressing the operational issues faced during the outage, Musk acknowledged the need for major improvements. He mentioned that failover redundancy should have worked but did not meet expectations.
The disruption was caused by a fire at an Oregon data center, impacting X users. Musk plans to prioritize his time at X and Tesla, including the upcoming Starship launch.
In a recent interview, Musk discussed reducing his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he currently serves as a special government employee. He plans to dedicate one to two days a week to DOGE, emphasizing its volunteer nature.
DOGE aims to make significant budget cuts, with a target of $2 trillion from the US budget. Musk expressed pride in the organization’s accomplishments but acknowledged the need for greater effectiveness.
Despite facing anti-Tesla protests due to his political affiliations, Musk remains focused on his commitments to Tesla and the government. He reflected on the intense effort required in the initial 100 days at DOGE, likening it to managing a start-up.
As Musk transitions back to primarily running his companies, he emphasized the importance of understanding the government landscape and building a strong team to drive efficiency and combat wastage.
